BioStim® NMS2 – Neuromuscular Stimulator

The BioStim® NMS2 is extremely flexible, powerful, comfortable and user friendly! While you’re able to achieve pain relief in the Constant mode, its biggest contribution is its muscle contracting stimulation boasting one of the highest pulse widths in its class. An impressive 400 µS is enough to contact some of the largest muscles in professional sports.

How does NMES work?
A Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulator (NMES) can customize your therapy by adjusting the Ramp-ON, Peak-ON, and Ramp OFF and other parameters to support your therapy regimen. These parameters mimic muscles in motion while you’re at rest. The patient or therapist can easily toggle between pain relief settings to a muscle strengthening program with the push of one button. There are (8) user friendly pre-set therapy settings to accommodate a wide population range from pediatric applications to professional athletes. The device holds up to three custom programs and it is easy for the patient to toggle between them. The custom programs remain set into the device until they are changed or reset.

Patient Compliance Meter
The Patient Compliance Meter within this device when activated, locks in the program set by the physician preventing changes to ensure the prescribed treatment is used every time. When unlocked the system displays the amount of time the device has been used with the prescribed treatment. A timer allows the patient to use the device for a specified period.

Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulator (NMES) is indicated to increase Range of Motion, Increase Blood Circulation, used patients have Muscle Disuse Atrophy, Muscle Reeducation, used to reduce Muscle Spasms, and is an effective approach in preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) by contracting muscle to increase blood flow.
